Hair loss Due to Hair Colouring
Most of the times, you may have heard that hair colouring can lead to hair loss or greying.
However, colouring is a chemical procedure and needs opening up of the cuticles so that the dyes can enter the hair shaft and the process leads to some porosity in the hair and can be damaging to the hair shaft in long run. If the proper care is not taken after the hair colouring, you may experience dull, dry and brittle hair which can break and the hair volume may reduce overtime.
The exception to this rule is chemicals in dyes, bleach and color can sometimes cause burn or allergic reaction to your scalp causing chemical burns and inflammation of hair follicles. This can lead to traumatic cicatricial alopecia.
The best way to avoid chemical burns to the scalp is choosing an experienced stylist and doing a patch test. Also let the stylist know if you feel any discomfort during the procedure.
